Wim Peersman is doctor in de medische wetenschappen en master in de sociologie. Hij is verbonden aan de Banaba Psychosociale Gerontologie en doceert ‘methoden van wetenschappelijk onderzoek’ aan de studenten Sociaal Werk. Hij doet onderzoek rond o.a. volgende thema’s: ‘ouderenwelzijn en –participatie’, ‘kwaliteit van zorg’ en ‘Human Resources in de zorg'. Hij is tevens coördinator van het onderzoek in het studiegebied Sociaal-Agogisch Werk van Odisee.
